The visibility in Bangka and its surroundings is quite variable
due to many factors including rainfall, tide, current and season.
Generally, during the dry season there is less nutrient in the
water and visibility is best at over 30m/100ft. This may drop
during the rainy season period to 20m/70ft on bad days.

I travel with Bluewave Diving, where will I be diving? |

and more than 30 dive sites ini Lembeh Strait. These sites are
rarely visited by other vessels, so divers and snorkellers get
the exclusive opportunity ti view magnificent corals, fish,
small creatures life without the crowds. We generally di three
dives at one day. With over 40 dive sites, we will make the
dive program late in the afternoon or in the evening. But the
find decision would be done in the early of morning. A number
of factors will be taken into consideration before the final
choose ini made: they include the weather, wind, tides, whether
you have dived the site already and whether the group wants
to go back to the same place.
| What
depths will I be diving to? |
Bangka Reef is generally not a deep dive destination. Our dive
sites have an average depth range of 10 - 25 metres. As coral
relies on sunlight for growth, some of the best snorkelling
and diving can be done in shallow areas around the reef top.
| How
many people will be on the boat? |
A maximum of 8 passengers are on the dive boat. There will be
a mix of skill levels on board - snorkellers, certified divers.
| What
is the water temperature? |
The waters around Bangka and Lembeh are often a little colder
that those of other parts of Bunaken. We recommend a full-length
suit at all times (3-5 mm) to protect against the water and
the risk of coral cuts. The water temperature May - October
ranges from 24c to 26c and Nov - April 26c to 30c. We think
it gets cool but maybe we have become too soft.

as adapters since we see a variety of plugs in use by our guests.

We accept US dollars cash only. It is important to note that
foreign notes should be new and unblemished (no folds, staple
holes or markings of any kind).
Indonesian banks and money changers will refuse or give a lower
rate for notes that are old, damaged or marked. Traveler’s
Cheques are not accepted in most establishments, including BSDR
and can be difficult to cash at banks or money changers, so
we do not recommend their use for travelers to this area. Only
the owner of the cheque can cash it at the bank.
Bitung has a number of ATM machines, which can be used to withdraw
Rupiah using your credit or debit card.
| What
else to do in the area besides diving? |
Though diving is the primary reason visitors come to North Sulawesi,
there are other things to do. The nearby 10 minutes by car only
to Tangkoko Nature Reserve offers the best chance anywhere of
seeing the rare Tarsius spectrum, the smallest primate in the
world. The park is also home to the endemic black crested macaque,
cuscus and other interesting wildlife and unlike most parks
in Southeast Asia, you actually do see wildlife quite easily
with the help of the sharp-eyed park rangers who are mandatory
guides for visitors.
